INSIDEThe President’s Guest House

Nestled in the heart of Arlegui Street in Manila stands the historic Laperal Mansion, a 19th-century architectural gem that unfolds like a page from Philippine history.  The mansion, meticulously restored by the Philippine government, now serves as a Presidential Guest House – a distinguished residence for hosting foreign dignitaries.

Its stately facade and ornate detailing showcases a harmonious blend of classic European architecture and tropical-infused Philippine touches.  The exterior boasts grand columns and intricate wrought ironwork reminiscent of 19th century opulence.  The expansive verandas, large windows and swimming pool seamlessly integrate the tropical nature of the Philippines.

High ceilings adorned with intricate moldings, chandeliers that cast a warm glow on polished hardwood floors and period-appropriate furnishings welcome guests into a timeless space.  Each bedroom adorned with locally-crafted furniture and art is a love letter to a past president.

The President’s Guest House, located a street down from Malacañang Palace is a symbol of diplomatic hospitality that echoes tales of the past with an enthusiasm for the future.
